Please join the Governor's Steering Committee on Climate Change and many individuals, towns, businesses, schools, universities, community organizations, and faith communities in reducing greenhouse gases in Connecticut. Connecticut is demonstrating to the rest of the country what a state can achieve through intelligence, innovation, vision and collaboration. In doing so, we are contributing to a cleaner world. We are inspiring other states and nations to pursue similar efforts. We are enhancing our state’s reputation for vision and innovation. And we are improving Connecticut’s quality of life for years to come.
We want to hear more about what your
school, business, community, and organizations are doing to reduce
our state’s emissions of greenhouse gases. Please send us
your success stories.
Your carbon footprint is a representation of the effect you, or your organization,
have on the climate in terms of the total amount of greenhouse gases you produce
(measured in units of carbon dioxide). Many of your actions generate carbon emissions,
which contribute to accelerating global warming and climate change. By measuring
your carbon footprint through such tools as the Safe Climate Carbon Calculator,
you can get a better sense of what your individual impact is and which parts of
your lifestyle deserve the greatest attention. Armed with such information you
can more readily take effective action to shrink your carbon footprint, thereby
minimizing your personal impact on the climate.
